On The Second Day Of
Starting on Sunday, 14 December 2014, The Sierra Vista Herald began running a series featuring 12 Veterans in the Sierra Vista Area. The second day of the series highlighted our MOPH Chapter 572 Senior Vice Commander, Gary Blankenship, standing tall!!

Wild Life Photo Albums
Our Senior Vice Commander, Gary Blankenship, is an accomplished photographer and has donated albums of his work to the area VA hospitals. One album is located at the Polytrauma Treatment Center at the Southern Arizona VA Hospital in Tucson and the other is located at the Sierra Vista Community Based Outpatient Clinic.
These albums help recovering Veterans by showing them the majesty of nature through the lens of a gifted photographer.
Our Senior Vice Commander truly cares for his fellow Veterans and is a testament to what it means to be a patriot.

El Tour De Tucson, 2014
Our Chapter Commander and Chapter Adjutant were at it again, racing in yet another cycling event. This time they competed in the El Tour de Tucson 40 mile race on November 22, 2014. Both Patriots had issues during the race but overcame those hurdles and finished in good time! And in the Gold Medal Catagory!!

Commander Eddie Weathers and Adjutant Christopher Vedvick finished the 60 mile Ride 2 Recovery Honor Ride today (8 November 2014) in Las Vegas!

THE WALLIS RIDE IN WALLIS, TEXAS
Congratulations to our Chapter Commander, Eddie Weathers, for completing a 36.2 mile bicycle ride in 3 hours and 11 minutes! He took part in the Wallis Ride, hosted by the Independence Fund, where over 150 Wounded Veterans and over 1000 support riders participated.
Eddie has chosen not to let his wounds determine his path in life. Instead he works to push himself beyond his physical and mental wounds in order to reach his goals. Commander Weathers is an inspiration to all of us here in the Chapter and we look forward to seeing him race in the upcoming El Tour de Tucson.

THE VALOR GAMES SOUTHWEST IN SAN ANTONIO, TX
Congratulations to Chapter Adjutant and Finance Officer Christopher Vedvick! Patriot Vedvick competed in the 2014 Valor Games Southwest in San Antonio, TX - in the cycling and kayaking events. Through his strong will and determination, Christopher placed fourth in BOTH events, we are very proud of him! As usual, Christopher's performance is in keeping with his die hard efforts of not letting his injuries keep him down, he is the epitome of Patriotism and Americanism! Job extremely well done!!
