First Things First:
Chartered by Congress in 1958, The Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH) is composed of military men and women who received the Purple Heart Medal for wounds suffered in combat. Membership includes personnel of all our Armed Forces that have been wounded as a result of Enemy Action and awarded the Purple Heart Medal. Note: If you are planning on joining our local Sierra Vista, Arizona Chapter #572 of the MOPH or our LAMOPH, it may be more expedient to bring your required papers to our monthly meeting at the Landmark Cafe in Sierra Vista and let our Adjutant handle the initial processing of them for you. That would also give you a chance to meet a few of our local members and Officers. Membership in the MOPH.
Purple Heart Recipient. Evidence of the award of the Purple Heart must be submitted with the application. Certificate alone does not constitute proof of award. If discharged, discharge document such as a DD214 must be provided reflecting character of service as honorable or under honorable conditions. Click Here for an application.
Associate Member. For a parent, spouse, sibling, lineal or adopted descendant of either a living or deceased Purple Heart recipient, evidence of the award of the Purple Heart and the relationship must be submitted with the application. However, if the Purple Heart Recipient is an active member of MOPH, he/she can sign the application certifying to the relationship. Click Here for an application.
Membership in the Ladies Auxiliary (LAMOPH).
Regular and Associate Membership.
Membership must be verified through certified evidence of the Purple Heart Award of the related Patriot. Female Purple Heart recipients are welcome to join the Ladies Auxiliary in addition to the MOPH. The LAMOPH has two levels of membership: Regular (Life) and Associate (Life). In comparison with Ladies Auxiliaries of many other veterans organizations, you are not required to be a U.S. citizen. You are welcome to join the Purple Heart Ladies' Auxiliary even if your Purple Hearter is not a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. You do not need to share a lot of your time, and your smallest effort can make a big difference for our military, veterans, and their loved ones.Click Here for an application.
